The Governor of Hong Kong the secretary of State for the Colonies.

Following through cargo ie on board "Glenlogan" British steamship from Hankau and Shanghai to Genoa:- 4947 bales Sesamum seeds, 2990 packages tallow, and 78 bales cow hides consigned by H.E. Arnold; 8400 bales sesamum, 1420 packages tallow, 1504 bales hides consigned by Italian Chinese Impor and Export Company; 15400 bales sesamum, 677 packages tallow, 34 bales hides consigned by Racine Ackerman; and 15 bales hides consigned by China Java Export Company, all above consigned to various Italian firms in Bologna, Milan, Turin, etc. The cargo also contains 323 bales hides shipped by Olivier and Company to Olivier, Paris; 500 packages tallow shipped by Arnold to Thornett' and Fehr, London; 123 bales hides shipped by A.R. Burkill to H.T.Pearson, Paris; 1400 packages sesamum shipped by David Sassoon to David Sassoon, and 2900 packages tallow shipped by Jardine, Matheson to Labric Moul and Company Marseilles. I have allowed her to go on. Please telegraph instructions whether
she should be permitted to proceed further to Governor of Straits Settlements to whom this telegram has been
repeated.
